– Colour: Consider your personal taste, the colour of the floor, the walls, furnishings and art work when selecting a carpet for your space. The colours you wear that compliment your complexion are a good starting point.

– Design: The design of a carpet should complete a room. It should be unique and suit your personal style. It is a piece of art so treat selecting it with the same passion.

– Budget: Establish a price range that you are comfortable spending. This will help narrow down the selection and make it easier to find the right piece.

– Size: The larger the area rug the bigger the room feels. Leaving 12″ to 18″ from the wall is optimum size for a space. Also keep in mind the bigger the rug the more floor that’s protected and the better the acoustics of the room.

– Time-frame: If you find a carpet you like, but its not the right size, don’t settle. In most cases carpets can be custom made. “Good things come to those who wait.” You’ll end up with a piece that suits your space perfectly and that you will love for many years to come.
